Paranoid
A BOY AND HIS NIGHTMARES
This is a little comic project that I've been developing for a good couple years now; but enough about me, let's talk about you. Have you ever had a moment- where you were so tired, but so very awake, all at once? Perhaps I should be more specific. After a long day at work, you come home, and fall over on whatever it is that you enjoy sleeping on- when only a few seconds pass, and you're both entirely comfortable, and entirely paralyzed? You want to scratch, but can't even begin to lift your arm. You want to stop the twitching, but your eyelids just won't let up. Your heart is racing, and you're not even sure what you're afraid of, but it's there -- that, tingling, warping, mind blowing feeling that can only be caused by extreme loneliness or ... the feeling of being watched. Some call it sleep paralysis, others believe it is interdimensional travel, or astral projection. They don't know all there is to know, but August does. He, whose father was taken by twisting limbs slithering out from the peeling wallpaper, and whose stomach ached to run, but his feet would not obey. Crazy kid. Must have made it all up, he is afraid of almost everything after all. We can just leave it at that. Yeah?
Nah, I'm gonna write about him. Welcome to Paranoid.
"It's hard to wake up from a nightmare, if you're not even asleep."
